Kim Kardashian, the reality TV superstar, 40, filed to divorce Kanye West, the rapper, 43, on Friday, February 19. After months of rumors and source quotes from friends of the former couple, Kim Kardashian, after seven years of marriage, reportedly filed for divorce.
For months, they lived separate lives, as West publicly struggled with his mental health. Several times, including a psychiatric hold at the end of 2016, he was hospitalized for exhaustion and sleep deprivation.
This will be Kardashian's third divorce, following splits between basketball player Kris Humphries in 2010 and music producer Damon Thomas in 2003 after just 72 days of marriage. For West, it was the first one.
Thanks to his fashion and music success, West is now worth $1.3bn, according to an April Forbes story. Thanks to the beauty and shapewear lines, Kardashian has seen her fortune balloon from $40m in 2014 to $780m in October 2020.
