We're The Gawker.
This is rather a public media project launched by not indifferent people for an online community.
The domain was acquired and turned into an online news magazine with the same visual concept similar to the old Gawker.com. In the content marketing era, it is just nostalgia for a precious, long-gone time when the news was a form of knowledge that fascinated readers most.
We accept user-submitted news and invite everyone to become a Contributor or Author. The top three things we look for in a submission are a distinctive and unique voice, a vision or a sense that the author is trying to tell something important, and the original content.
We look for submissions that can reel readers in and hold readers attention. We like submissions that have a strong sense of purpose and direction and that are held together by a good storyline. We don’t publish erotica, racism, homophobia, sexism, political extremism, xenophobia, or otherwise hateful. We believe that hate has no place in the lit society.
However, we are comfortable with reading and publishing uncomfortable material. In this case, the article itself must carry the weight of the material in a meaningful way. We’d like authors to demonstrate that they have a relatively good understanding of the material they tell readers about. The article doesn't have to be perfect, but we need to see some effort and we like when something special is at stake.
Don't expect us to pay for your articles. We are almost a non-profit project at least for now. 😉
If you have any question, comments, or just want to get in touch, please send us an email. We will do our best to respond to your queries and get back to you as soon as possible – usually in about 2-3 business days.
